For sublimation on shirts, use 100% polyester or a high-polyester blend for the best results. Preheat your heat press to 385-400°F (196-204°C) and pre-press the shirt for 5-10 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles. Position the sublimation transfer face down on the fabric, secure it with heat-resistant tape, and press with medium pressure for 45-60 seconds. Carefully remove the paper while hot for a vibrant, permanent design.
For sublimation on mugs, use a poly-coated sublimation mug and a mug press set to 350-400°F (175-204°C). Wrap the sublimation print around the mug, securing it with heat-resistant tape. Place the mug in the press and apply firm pressure for 3-5 minutes, depending on the press and mug coating. Once done, carefully remove the transfer and let the mug cool on a heat-resistant surface. This ensures a crisp, durable print that won’t fade or peel.
